Dainik Swatantra Nivesh, Fatehpur correspondent. The paper does not print a calendar date. It says the visit was on a Saturday.
The report says that Saturday became a moment of pride for Fatehpur when the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, reached the Sohan Peda stall at an exhibition, tasted the district’s well-known Sohan Peda, and asked about the local product. It says his arrival left the Sohan Peda family, and the district, happy and encouraged.
It says that at the stall he spoke at length with the operator, named in the report as Sohan Gupta, and heard about the sweet’s history, how it is made, its quality, its traditional taste, and its popularity in the country. The report says Sohan Gupta told him that Sohan Peda is still made while keeping the purity, quality, and traditional method carried over the years, and that this is why it has become a special identity of Fatehpur.
The report says the Chief Minister praised the quality of the product and the packaging, and the efforts of local entrepreneurs. It quotes him as saying that the government is continually working to take the traditional products of Uttar Pradesh to the country and the world, and that government steps to promote local products and entrepreneurs are giving small businesses a new identity and a market. It says the interest he showed in Sohan Peda, and his praise of its quality, was encouraging for local entrepreneurs as well. It closes by saying that a tradition carried over the years, pure ingredients, and taste have given Sohan Peda a special place among people as an identity of Fatehpur.
